Aston Martin is proud to unveil their new cinematic campaign, a short film directed by Oscar-nominated Luca Guadagnino, working alongside an impressive creative support team. The film features Golden Globe winner and Emmy Award nominee British actor Josh O’Connor, best known for his role as Prince Charles in Netflix’s global hit ‘The Crown’.
Filmed on location in Sicily, O’Connor takes you on a journey behind the wheel of our DBX, undertaking a dream-like excursion through the island’s vineyards and twisting roads. Luca Guadagnino said, ‘We have created this short movie in which we focus on a man and his mind, as well as his command of the Aston Martin DBX through a great landscape.’
The Sicilian location incorporates grand sweeping of landscapes and coastline, alongside a classic villa with a grand heritage. Luca Guadagnino’s films, which include the Oscar-winning Call Me by Your Name, A Bigger Splash and Suspiria, values a rich quality of interior and exterior light. Guadagnino brings a designer’s attention to detail to every frame. For DBX he has crafted a mysterious narrative, one that demands your attention and engages your senses.
‘In many respects, Aston Martin sells dreams. Their brief was to show this dream,’ says Marek Reichman, ‘They are a 108-year-old brand and in the past and have relied on other ways of telling the world about them. But this film is different. It conveys what it feels like to be part of Aston Martin, to be truly engaged with the spirit and ethos of the company.’
