Monsoon is here, which is a designated season for tea lovers, where ‘chai and pakodas’ serve as the signature food. Therefore, we at TLC decided to visit and test their passionate ardor, reveling the rich tradition and culture of tea.
Established in 2012, the chain has been founded on the principles, honoring raw love for tea in all its glorious forms. With their first outlet in Gurgaon, the brand has spread to Noida, Delhi, Mumbai and now Bengaluru too. Their outlet in the Courtyard by Sublime at Prestige Trade Towers, Bengaluru is a quaint space, where tea lovers can carry on with their dose of ‘Gupshup’ in an elegant ambience, worth talking about.
Keeping the season in mind, we were recommended the ‘Baarish Wali Chai’, which is a perfect blend for the monsoons, enriched with the goodness of ginger and a fresh burst of lemongrass. Following this, we sipped through their special ‘Kulhad Waali Saffron Masala Chai’, served in a traditional kulhad, giving off those soothing earthen flavors and lastly, we tried the light Honey Ginger Lemon tea, warming up and soothing the throat and soul. Each tried blend turned out to be a perfect option for the season and its various moods, and an elixir for good health.
To go along with those reviving teas, we were served with monsoon’s best friend, the Baarish Wale Pakore, which is a pakora platter comprising of a heavenly combination of onion, cottage cheese and chili pakoras, following that appeared a serving of fresh and crisp Palak Patta Crispies, which were an absolutely tongue tingling delight. Made from fried spinach, dipped in gram flour, sprinkled with fresh onions, jalapenos and tamarind chutney, it’s delicious and a perfect combination to go with your tea. To wind it up, we tried the traditional Vada Pav, which culminated the entire tea experience with the flavors of a flavorsome potato vada in a fresh bun, smeared with an aromatic mint dip.
You can try their signature Samosa Matar Chaat and the health conscious can delve onto their delicious Kala Chana Chat to add on to your tantalizing tea time.
Chai lovers can also fully-customize their special ‘Meri Waali Chai’ as per their absolute preference, basis the amount of milk, water, tea, and sugar they want in it. In this variant, you can also choose to add Cardamom, Holy basil, Clove, Mint, Lemon, Ginger, Ajwain, Fennel, Masala, Black Pepper, Cinnamon, Black Cardamom, or Lemon to your tea. To give that immunity a boost, you can also try the Haldi Doodh, a traditional brew of wholesome milk and turmeric.
